Karen began her healing journey by training as a nurse and, once qualified, felt the need to travel the world, living within and learning about other cultures and lifestyles. During this time she developed her teaching skills within the aviation industry becoming a senior instructor and examiner for the civil aviation industry.
She was ‘grounded’ following the birth of her son and her career took another path when she became the owner of a registered home for adolescents who had suffered early life trauma. She undertook formal training as an integrative psychotherapist as pre requisite to understanding her own process and that of the young people she worked with. She also began a lengthy period of personal therapy to heal her own trauma, deepening her authenticity, empathy and healing skills for herself and others.
Over the years she has trained in many disciplines and had many wonderful teachers and guides, friends and clients who have all contributed to her personal and spiritual development enriching her life and healing practice.
Karen continues in practice as a reiki healer, counsellor, nurse, mentor, lifestyle and wellness coach and teaches on counselling, spiritual and personal development and health related courses.
She holds regular reiki and psychic surgery clinics in Shoreham, East Sussex and has practices in Eastbourne and at the Hale Clinic, London. Integrative Healing
As a humanistic integrative psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, Reiki Master and certified teacher I respect and acknowledge my clients strengths, beliefs and behaviours which have helped them to manage their lives thus far. I work with clients to reach their goals and update their beliefs about life by bringing the unconscious into the conscious enabling them to make authentic choices, creating harmony and increased physical and emotional wellbeing.
At consultation each session is individually tailored to meet the identified needs of the client. This may take the form of counselling/psychotherapy, Reiki healing or a combination of both therapies as required.
Typical issues brought to therapy may include: Stress, Trauma, Sexual Abuse, Fatigue and Lack of energy, Relationship problems, Weight management.
Please note that combined sessions will last approx. 1hr 30 mins, all other sessions 1hr.
Counselling/Psychotherapy. Humanistic, integrative psychotherapy underpinned with psychodynamic theory which explores our relationship to self and others encouraging authenticity and deeper understanding and resolution of emotional issues.
Usui and Tibetan Reiki Healing and Attunements. Reiki is the channelling of Universal life force energy, directed from the healer to the client, to promote physical, emotional, mental and spiritual balance. Treatment is usually a very relaxing and uplifting experience for the client and many clients have stated that they found this a very profound and deep healing experience.
Lifestyle and wellness coaching for weight loss. Weight management issues are addressed from a psychological approach, giving support and encouraging healthy eating patterns, stress reduction and increased energy levels. Weight loss programmes are for a series of 9 sessions of 45mins each and include an hypnotic CD which helps to keep your focus between sessions, a personal journal and food intake diary which helps us to explore your emotional relationship with your body and eating patterns.
